Here's a flower that I've not seen on any hike I've been on. It looks like an avalanche lilly with a strange center. Not sure what it's called. There were spots of them spread miles apart on the trail and only one or two in each patch. Very pretty and delicate.

This guy was traped among the rocks as the tide left. He was being asaulted by seagulls. I wonder if it's still alive? Can you tell by looking?
