Standing Waves

OK, this isn't really a standing wave as in particle physics but you get the idea. I visited the Hiram S. Chittenden Locks here in Seattle, Washington. They allow passage from the Puget Sound to the inland water ways in the Seattle area, including Lake Union, the Montlake Cut, and Lake Washington. On any sunny day in Seattle you can come down and watch the fishing boats and yachts going back and forth through the locks. There are even walkways you can traverse to get to the other side where a fish viewing station is located. I got to see several salmon swimming through on the day I took this picture. All in all it's a fun afternoon on a sunny day.
